Family and Background

I am married, with three adult children.  My wife, who is a clinical social worker and artist, and I live on a hilltop in the country near Chapel Hill, NC.

I grew up in a small town in northern New Mexico called Las Vegas (not the famous, glitzy one, the original one).  Formerly the northernmost point on the Santa Fe Trail, set in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, it was a beautiful, slightly wild, and very interesting place to be a boy.  I first came to North Carolina to attend college at Duke, and after some years living in Ohio and California, my wife and I moved back to North Carolina, and have stayed here since.  This is where we have raised our children.
